Karaoke Revolution Party FAQ
Q: Do mics and dance pads come with the game?
A: All three versions of KRP are offered as bundles which include the game and one microphone. Dance pads are sold separately. Check out DDRFreak.com for info on what pad is best for you. Also, if you already have mics, remember that you can also purchase KRP as a game stand-alone for both the XBOX and PS2.
Q: What kind of microphones and DDR pads can I use?
A: Any official XBOX or PS2 microphone or headset will work with KRP. For the GameCube, you’ll need to use the mic that comes with KRP or other GameCube games (these aren’t sold separately). Any DDR-compatible dance pad will work with KRP.
Q: Do I need two microphones for duets?
A: Yes, you need to have two separate mics attached to your console to sing in duet mode.
Q: What kind of Xbox Live features does KRP have?
A: XBOX Live allows you to download extra songs to use in KRP for your singing pleasure. Packs of five songs cost $4.99 each, or you can purchase the $80 mega pack for over 100 extra songs.
Q: Can I play KRP online with friends?
A: No, KRP doesn’t offer online multiplayer modes, but the XBOX version allows you to access all features of your XBOX Live account while playing the game.
Q: Sometimes I’ll sing great but get a bad rating – how is my singing scored?
A: While we all know that you’ve got a great voice, your XBOX only cares about two things: timing and pitch. The more in-time you sing with the original performance and the closer you are to the exact pitches sung, the better your score. But don’t forget to smile – your stage performance counts for something too.
Q: Are there any tips for using the EyeToy Cameo face creator?
A: There are a few things to remember when taking your picture with EyeToy Cameo:
* Place a lamp or other light source behind your EyeToy camera. This will give an even amount of light on you. But make sure the light is a good five feet or more away from you so you don't looked washed out.
* Pose with a slight smile – just a little upturn of the lips is all you need.
* As a secret tip for the EyeToy, when making the head it actually captures more data than is in the framing shot... get so close to it that the top of your head, your chin, and a little bit of your face are cut off, and when you go to put your markers down you will have a bigger, cleaner picture of your face to work with.
* Don't forget to focus the EyeToy!
Q: Any tips for improving my sing and dance performance?
A: Why, funny you should ask – we’ve got a few suggestions:
* Remember that you don’t have to go back to the center position of your dance pad after performing a step. You can keep your feet planted on any one of the four buttons while you’re dancing.
* Use practice mode to get the dance steps down without failing out of the song. There’s a click track in practice mode which might help you keep the beat.
* If you’re ready to try moving up a dance difficulty level, use the feet ratings on the sing and dance song selection screen. Try and find a song that’s got a more difficult rating on your current difficulty level, or a song that’s easier on the next level up.
* Try teaming up with another player – one person sings and the other dances.
* If you can’t do Material Girl on expert without falling over don’t feel bad. That one is just nasty.
