Q: How do I unlock Bonus Songs?
A: You unlock Bonus Songs by getting enough points in each song of a stage to beat the total stage score. (See Scoring Tips in the Tips and Tricks section.)
Q: How do you keep up your streak? Any tips on getting a higher score?
A: Keeping up your streak is crucial for getting high scores in Frequency. You get bonuses for capturing track after track without any pauses in between. If you capture a track and quickly rotate to a new track and start capturing without missing a beat, you will notice your streak counter appear, which is a little "X" with a number after it. This number multiplies your score for this track. Keep on capturing tracks without missing a beat to make this multiplier grow. The highest number multiplier you can get is X 6. The Multiplier powerup will double your score for 8 bars or music, so deploy these to get a big score as well!
Q: Can't get the last 2 stages to unlock in Easy mode...what's up?
A: They're not available for easy. The following stages are available for these modes.
Easy- 1,2,3
Normal- 1,2,3,4
Expert- 1,2,3,4,5
Q: Which control scheme is best for me?
A: The game recommends using the L1, R1, and R2 buttons for best results.
Q: How could I ever move my thumb fast enough to play Expert?
A: You probably can't. One finger is no match for some of those harder levels! Use the shoulder buttons (L1, R1, R2), or one of the other multi-finger methods (see below). The longer you play with your thumb, the harder it will be to "unlearn" and switch.
Q. Is L1, R1, R2 the only fingering I can use to win?
A: There are lots of winning controller strategies. I know some people who rock with their right index, middle, and ring fingers on the Square, Triangle, and Circle. One expert I know plays with his right thumb on the Square button, and his right index and middle fingers on R1 and R2. You can always reconfig them under Options.
Q. My hands are getting cramped - what do you recommend?
A: See the Tips and Tricks. Also, if you are playing with just your thumb, switch to
L1, R1, R2 or one of the other multi-finger controls.
Q. I'm stuck at Normal Level 3 - how do I get past this?
A: Just like playing a real musical instrument, it takes practice. Take a break and come back to it. You'll be surprised that you've gotten better!
Q: Can you put in your own CD and remix any song?
A: No, only the songs on the Frequency CD can be remixed.
Q: How long would it take me to finish it once?
A: Frequency is as long as you make it, it has a remix mode that offers infinite replayability, as long as hands don't give out first.
Q. Which songs are in the commercials?
A: The worm commercial is Funkstar De Luxe's "Ignition," the other commercial is DJ Q Bert's "Cosmic Assassins."
